For Dirk Uys, photography was never a side pursuit — it was the thing he carried into every game
reserve, every quiet morning in the Overberg, every stormy evening on the Agulhas
coast. Now, after nearly four decades in the corporate world, the lens is all his.
His work ranges
from intimate garden-bird portraits to sweeping countryside panoramas, Big Five
encounters and every special but often overlooked creature in between — always in pursuit of that
fraction of a second where light, subject and instinct align.
